Events are one of many highlights in a dog owners year, and something I particularly enjoy both as a dog owner and photographer.
Last year I was invited to attend and photograph Strutt Your Mutt, and I am delighted to have been asked to take part again this year on 1st May.
Strutt Your Mutt is a charity dog day organised by Wangford Veterinary Clinic, rasing money for some great dog charities – this year their main charity is Dogs for Good (formerly Dogs for the Disabled). Last years event was blessed with great weather and was enjoyed by all attending while raising over £3000 for charity.
The event is hosted at the beautiful Benacre Estate with a variety of attractions, entertainment, demonstrations, displays and great walks in stunning surroundings – plenty for dogs and owners of all ages.
The fantastic Dog and Duck Show will also be entertaining with its unique demonstration. If you have not seen this before, you are in for a real treat. I photographed them at an event last year and visitors were telling me it was the best demo they had seen at a show, and I agree with them!
Along with photographing the day in general, I will be taking dog portrait photos for a portion of the day, with all participating dogs being entered into a competition to win a full photo shoot with me, winner to be chosen by the event organisers. For those who are not lucky enough to win, you will be able to view portraits online shortly after the event, and purchase prints and wall hanging products, if you wish.
So, I look forward to seeing you there on the 1st of May. Come along, enjoy a lovely day and help dog charities.
